Whale Figurine, Ring Holder and Incense holder
Whales embody the vastness and wisdom and strength of the ocean. The represent the interconnectedness of all life, from the tiny plankton that they eat to the enormous ocean voyagers that they are. This blue whale sculpture is completely handsculpted, hand painted, and kiln fired to a glossy finish. As in a dream, tiny houses are carried on this whale's back as it swims through vast oceans.
Subtle 22kt yellow gold accents are added to the whale's tail and fins and as sparkling "barnacles" on the whale, in a special process for ceramics, requiring a third kiln firing to bond the gold to the ceramic
The whale's blowhole doubles as a holder for small flowers or short sticks of incense (such as Japanese incense), making this little whale a perfect companion for those times when you're relaxing or meditating. Rings can be held on the whale's tail and house, depending on the size.
Most figurines you will see on the marketplace are mass produced and cast using molds. This whale figurine and incense/ring holder is a one-of-a-kind art creation, hand sculpted from ceramic clay and individually hand painted, taking weeks from start to completion. Measures 3.5 inches long and 2.75 inches wide. Ring and flower pictured are not included.
