Sleeping Fawn Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Heart Shaped Leaf Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
Fawns symbolize sweet innocence and new beginnings. As a spirit animal, the fawn reminds us to connect with our inner child and to feel safe when embracing growth in our lives. This fawn is waiting patiently for mom, hidden safely on this leaf. This ceramic jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The heart shaped leaf is imprinted from a real Monstera leaf and handpainted to accent the delicate detail. The fawn is handsculpted and handpainted with colored glaze and is the charming centerpiece of the leaf dish.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, warm white on the underside. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
