Sage Flower Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Botanical Imprint
Ceramic jewelry holder covered with handpainted flowers and a real 22kt gold accent on the rim. Handmade from start to finish, using flowers from my own garden, creating a special spot for your rings, earrings, other jewelry, or incense cones.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The flowers and leaves are imprinted in the clay from an actual sage flowers and leaves, a plant that is lovely in the garden and attracts bees, hummingbirds, and butterfies. The ceramic dish is then handpainted with shades of green and purple underglazes. The glaze is a glossy soft clear.
Real gold is applied to the rim in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.
