Resting Horse Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Leaf Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
A special jewelry holder or trinket tray to inspire some forest magic in your home. Horses symbolize freedom, as well as guidance when they appear to us in our lives or in dreams. In cultures throughout the world, horses have powerful connections to loyalty, intuition, and spiritual direction.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The leaf is imprinted from a real Nasturtium leaf, and handpainted with blues and muted greens to accent the intricate detail. The unicorn's mane is handpainted with colored glazes, accented with real 22kt gold stars and sparkles, creating the magical centerpiece of the leaf dish.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, warm white on the underside. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim (and little sparkles on the leaf and mane) in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
