Kitten Sweet Dreams Jewelry Holder, Turquoise Ceramic Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
I hope this cozy scene brings you a smile every time you see it. A calico kitten is fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams, with a favorite teddy bear and adorable toy mouse all tucked in under a purple-blue blanket. A nightstand nearby holds a ball of yarn and fish toy. This beautiful ceramic dish can be used as a decoration sure to bring smiles, or as a jewelry dish perfect for your nightstand. This piece is a bit more expensive than my average piece - it involves a lot of sculpture and handpainting which I hope you agree makes it a special piece.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The blanket pattern is imprinted from an antique lace crochet fabric, and handpainted to accent the intricate detail. The little kitten and all the toys are all handpainted one by one. Real gold stars add to the dreamy nighttime scene.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear. Real 22kt gold is applied to the rim and piece in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art. This piece is comprised of many individual sculptures, all made by hand. Because of all the sculpture work and crevices, this piece is not suitable for food use.
