Large Evergreen Jewelry Holder or Decorative Piece, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accent
In the winter, evergreens symbolize strength and endurance, as they remain green and full of life in the winter months. This rounded bowl celebrates the beauty of evergreen and cones, all sparkling with real gold.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The botanical pattern is imprinted from a real fir sprigs, and hand painted to accent the intricate detail.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, showcasing the beautiful warm white of this natural ceramic clay. Real 22kt gold overglaze is dotted on the piece, one by one, creating a subtle sparkle. The gold is also applied to the rim. In this special process for adding real gold to ceramic, the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
