This ceramic dish features a beautiful handpainted Luna moth hovering in the night sky among the botanical imprints of real leaves. This dish is special place for jewelry, trinkets, a special ring, or an incense cone. The ceramic dish is accented with real 22kt gold.
This Luna moth ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The Luna moth is sculpted carefully by hand and then painted by hand with ceramic underglazes before being fired in the kiln to full vitrification. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a kiln fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the leaves and the gorgeous wings of the Luna. A real 22kt gold overglaze is applied and then fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor-intensive process that is worth the extra step.

These ceramics are individually made by hand from start to finish, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them unique pieces of art.
