Bumble Bee Fairy Garden Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
Bumble bees are the focused, productive, and patient presence among the plants and flowers. They are the sign of a thriving and harmonious garden. This cute little bumble bee is sculpted by hand, busy at work among beautiful impressions of real leaves and a pink flower on this high fired ceramic jewelry dish. Real 22kt gold accents the rim and adds sparkle to the beautifully patterned leaves of each one-of-a-kind ceramic piece.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy soft clear. The piece is imprinted with actual sage and rosemary leaves, providing a sparkling fairy garden for our little bee. The ceramic is then carefully hand-painted and kiln fired.
Real gold is applied to the ceramic dish in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
