"I will always cross the ice to be with you", Emperor Penguin ring pedestal, ceramic with glass
The only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter, emperor penguins trek dozens of miles over the ice to breeding colonies. The female lays a single egg, which is incubated for just over two months by the male while the female returns to the sea to feed; she returns to him and the parents take turns foraging at sea and caring for their chick in the colony.
This ring pedestal is a tiny little world for your most special ring or totem object. The pedestal features a crackled crystal blue ocean, textured base, and a pair of Emperor Penguins that will stand guard over your treasure.
This piece is sculpted from stoneware clay, and high fired for durability. The ocean is created from blue glass that is kiln-melted inside of the ceramic, creating a unique and beautiful effect of crazed and crackled clear class.
Approximately 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall. The ring shown in the first photo is for display purposes and not included.
