Fairy Garden Flowers Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accent
Behind every garden's beauty there are elements of patience, care, and nurturing. To me there is also a feeling of magic. In this piece, I bring that feeling to life with a handful of fairy-worthy purple flowers. The imprints on this kiln-fired ceramic jewelry dish are made with real fennel flowers from my own garden, but instead of coloring them yellow I went with an ethereal purple-periwinkle color. Real 22kt gold accents the rim and adds sparkle to the little garden in each one-of-a-kind ceramic piece.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy soft clear. The ceramic is then carefully hand-painted and kiln fired.
Real gold is applied to the ceramic dish in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor-intensive process with a beautiful result.
Measurements: Approximately 5 inches wide
Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
