Woodland Spirit Fox on Evergreen Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
A tiny fox sits alert among evergreen sprigs, its fur adorned with delicate gold swirls that give it the feeling of an enchanted woodland spirit. Like a quiet guardian of the forest, this watchful fox keeps company with the small treasures you place here. Foxes are said to bring protection and good luck, making this little forest spirit a perfect companion for the place where you keep your special jewelry.
This fox ceramic jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed, and fired in my studio. The small fox figurine sits at the center of the dish like a gentle guardian, watching over a beautiful resting place for your rings, earrings, or other treasured pieces.
This ceramic piece is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The botanical impression is made with a real evergreen sprig, carefully handpainted to bring out the delicate details of the forest leaves. The orange fox with its golden markings becomes the charming centerpiece of the dish.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, with a warm white underside. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It’s a labor-intensive process that gives the dish a beautiful finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light, beauty, and a little woodland magic into your home.
