Oak Leaf and Acorn Ceramic Jewelry Dish, with gold accents
“The greatest oaks have been little acorns.” Acorns and oak leaves have long been powerful symbols of strength, rebirth, and renewal. As the tiny acorns grow and fall to the ground, they promise new life and hope. Oak leaves have long adorned the crowns of various rulers, representing strength, longevity, and power. This jewelry dish is inspired by the incredible beauty of these leaves and the intricate detail of small acorns. Rings, jewelry, trinkets, or incense cones can be placed in this holder.
These particular leaves are French Oak leaves, a tree that is revered throughout history in France, representing peace and their own land, even as the barrels that age their wines.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glazed finish is a soft satin gloss over the colors of the leaf. 22kt real gold is applied to the rim and leaves and the piece is then fired a third time to bond the gold.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio, a labor of love that I hope will spark joy in your home.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art. Each leaf is an individual painting and they will all vary like actual leaves.
