Frog and Fly Lily Pond, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
This cute little frog is sure to spark some smiles as he carefully eyes a nearby fly.... his gaze slowly travels over while making no sudden movements! This frog jewelry dish is one of a kind art piece - handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio.
Frogs embody a silliness and joy of life. This cute little frog and his lily pond capture that in an adorable dish.
This jewelry dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The ceramic dish is imprinted with actual leaves (nasturtium leaves from my garden), handpainted with shades of green blue, and then fired in the kiln. A 22kt real gold overglaze is applied and then fired a third time to bond it to the piece. The glazed finish is a glossy warm white, with beautiful natural variations found in a kiln fired finish.
This jewelry and incense holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio, a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
