Hummingbird with Purple Sage Flower Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
Hummingbirds are a beautiful symbol of positivity, joy, and freedom. They sparkle with light as they dart around gardens like tiny fairies. I also love how feisty they are - if you have hummingbirds in your garden, you probably know that they are quite spirited and brave as well! Here the hummingbird is paired with a purple sage flower.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a kiln-fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the hand painted leaves and flowers. Read 22kt gold is applied to the to the hummingbird and the dish and then kiln-fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor-intensive process that is worth the extra step.
Measurements: Approximately 5 inches wide
These pieces are individually made by hand from start to finish, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them perfectly unique. Each one is a little bit different because they are each pressed from a real flower and then sculpted by hand.
