Bumble Bee Jewelry Holder with Fennel Flower, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
Bumble bees are the focused, productive, and patient presence among the plants and flowers. They are the sign of a thriving and harmonious garden. This cute little bumble bee is sculpted by hand, busy at work among beautiful impressions of fennel flowers and rosemary leaves.
Bumble bees in my garden spend most of their time buzzing around the fennel flowers, and both return in great numbers year after year to my garden. It's perfect that hard working bees love fennel - fennel is the symbol of resilience, endurance, and protection, and we all know that bees go hand in hand with that sentiment as they make the fruits and flowers of the world possible.
This bumble bee ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a kiln fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the handpainted fennel flowers. A real 22kt gold overglaze is applied and then fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor intensive process that is worth the extra step.

These ceramics are individually made by hand from start to finish, using actual flowers, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them unique pieces of art.
