Agapanthus Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Flower Imprint
Agapanthus always reminds me tiny fireworks, the purple flowers bursting with color and movement. Here I've captured the florets and leaves, adding a bit of mother-of-pearl lusters to the flowers to give them an iridescent shimmer.
This ceramic jewelry holder is covered with handpainted agapanthus flowers and has a real 22kt gold accent on the rim. Handmade from start to finish, using flowers from my own garden, creating a special spot for your rings, earrings, other jewelry, or incense cones.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The flowers are imprinted from an actual agapanthus florets and then handpainted with shades of green, purple, and blue underglazes. The glaze is a glossy soft clear with a mother-of-pearl luster on the flowers.
Real gold is applied to the rim and flowers in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
