Yorkie in a Teacup Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
A special jewelry holder or trinket tray with a cute little "Teacup Yorkie" ...a tiny Yorkie in an tiny teacup. This Yorkshire Terrier dog ceramic jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio. The alert little Yorkie figurine keeps watch over this beautiful ceramic dish, a spot for your rings, earrings, or other jewelry.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The flower pattern is created from a real fennel flower, and handpainted to accent the intricate detail. The tiny teacup, saucer, tea ray, and dog are all individually sculpted by hand, then hand painted and glazed. The piece is created as one single sculpture (the parts are not removable)
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, warm white on the underside. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim in a special process, paying homage to the gold trim on heirloom tea sets. This piece is fired in the kiln three times for completion with the final firing bonding the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art. The piece you receive will be very similar to the one in the photo but individually made.
