White Owl in Winter's Magic Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish
A white owl sits on a beautiful leafless tree in winter, watching over the quiet world. The unusual leaf imprint is from an artichoke leaf which is then painted with shades of blue and purple. The twilight sky is painted with turquoise and touches of blue, adding a little fantasy to this winter scene.
Owls represent wisdom and intuition, and are associated with magic, the spiritual world, and the mystical feeling of the night forest. Owls often seen as protectors, spiritual guides, or bearers of messages. This owl jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio. This wise but cute owl sits among the forest branches, creating a protected little spot for your rings or other small jewelry.
This piece is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, imprinted with a real artichoke leaf from my garden, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The little owl is sculpted by hand, with lots of added detail, creating a complete nighttime scene.
This piece is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio, a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
Measurements: approximately 5 inches in diameter
Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
