Swan Soulmates, Ceramic Leaf Dish with Two Swans on Sparkling Pond
Swans are a beautiful symbol of love and romance, the connection of two soulmates. Swans mate for life, a lovely example of loyal partnership in nature. As spirit animals, they symbolize self-esteem and security, a powerful energy to bring to our partnerships. Their deep connection to water reminds us to go with the flow in life and in our relationships.
This ceramic jewelry dish starts with the imprint of a lovely heart-shaped leaf, creating a heart-shaped pond for these two white swans. The swans are each sculpted by hand and joined to the curved leaf dish while the clay is still raw. Ceramic stains and pigments create the dappled blue and turquoise water. The piece is glazed and kiln fired to temperatures over 2200 degrees F that mature the clay and melt the glazes into a coating of glass. Real 22kt gold is added to the water and to the leaf edge, accenting the heart shape. Then the piece is kiln fired again to melt and bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with each piece a one-of-a-kind creation.
Please allow slight variations and imperfections which make these handmade sculptures as unique as a fingerprint.
