Large Blue Ceramic Leaf Dish with Gold Accents, Fig
The fig tree is associated with immortality, tranquility, and the tree of life. This beautiful dish is created from a single fig leaf, showing the organic leaf shape and intricate details of this lovely leaf. The glaze is a deep cobalt blue dotted with real gold. I wanted this leaf to capture the feeling of gazing up at the night sky, into the universe, dotted with twinkling stars.
This jewelry holder is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a translucent blue with beautiful natural variations found in a kiln fired finish. Real 22kt gold accents are added in a special process for ceramics and the piece is fired a third time in the kiln.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
Measurements:
Approximately 6.5 inches wide. Each piece is made completely individually from an actual leaf. No two leaves are the same and each piece is formed and designed by hand. Please allow for slight imperfections, variations, and organic shapes which is what makes each one as unique as a fingerprint.
