Gray Tabby Cat Jewelry Dish, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
A tiny gray tabby cat is curled up sleeping on a cozy pink-colored "rug" created from a vintage doily, a little ball of yarn nearby. This sweet comforting scene is captured on this dish, creating a magical little spot for your rings or small jewelry.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The delicate imprint is from a real lace crochet doily pressed into the clay. The sweet tabby cat is hand sculpted and meticulously handpainted with colored glazes and is the charming centerpiece of the dish.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
